Published time: 2020-10-13

Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) announced a strategic collaboration with China
Construction Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (CCBM) and China Construction Bank Corporation
Labuan Branch (CCBL).

The collaboration is one of the thrusts under BPMB’s three-year Strategic Plan for 2020– 2022
and is expected to facilitate cooperation in financing strategic projects in Malaysia.

BPMB, represented by Chairman Zaiton Mohd Hassan and President/Group Chief Executive Officer
Arshad Mohamed Ismail, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CCBM and CCBL
which was represented by Chief Executive Officer and CCBL Principal Officer Felix Feng Qi on
Sept 11, 2020. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

“The MoU will provide BPMB a platform for regional reach and pave the way for syndication,
knowledge sharing and technical assistance. Furthermore, it will allow the transfer of knowledge
among all parties particularly in the areas of CCBM’s and CCBL’s green strategy and BPMB’s
project evaluation and impact assessment frameworks,” said Arshad.

Meanwhile Feng Qi added that CCB Malaysia was honoured to collaborate with BPMB, a leading
development financial institution, to develop the strategic sectors of the economy in Malaysia.

“Under the MoU, there will be a lot of sharing of knowledge and experience, as well as other
cooperative and collaborative initiatives such as the ‘CCB Match Plus’, a business-to-business
(B2B) smart matchmaking platform established by China Construction Bank Corporation.”
